Terms
No structures shall be built, moved or structurally altered and no land use shall be substantially altered until a building/land use permit has been issued by the Zoning Administrator. The Zoning Administrator shall not issue any permits for a structure or a use that is not in conformity with the requirements of all county zoning ordinances.
Permit shall be valid for twelve (12) months after the date of issue. When construction has not been completed on validated permits within a twelve-month period from the date of issue, a twelve month extension may be granted as long as the applicant contacts the Environmental Services Office within the first twelve months and requests an extension. In order to be covered under this permit you must include everything you anticipate building within the next two years.
In most cases a building/land use permit is not required for:
a) school bus stop shelters
b) storage buildings under 120 sq ft as long as they meet setbacks, are not built on a permanent foundation and not considered water-oriented
c) deck additions on existing houses as long as they are under 120 sq ft, they are not roofed or screened and they meet all required setbacks.
d) normal maintenance or repair where the building area coverage is not increased, e.g. new shingles, siding, windows, cosmetic improvements.
Applicant or agent agrees that this application, along with site plans and drawings are true and correct to the best of their knowledge
Applicant or agent agrees to allow the Zoning Official to enter said property to conduct inspections on the proposed construction
Applicant or Agent agrees that no part of the septic system shall be covered until an inspection and photography documentation has been completed. Please coordinate with inspector prior to construction.
Applicant or agent further agrees that this project will not result in the unauthorized draining, filling or excavating of any wetlands
